Balenciaga fall 2010 shoes

It's insanely awesome how a complexity of shapes and materials propers to architecture can be translated into a shoe with this surprising result. I really heart these shoes! And they're all so breathtaking that I can't tell which one is my favorite.

Nicolas Ghesquière said “Cosmonauts and seventies Formica. Packaging and food boxes. Synthetic foam and plywood. And a kind of rigidity” were his inspirations to make these shoes.
What else can I say? They are themselves an inspiration.

Here's Freja Beha wearing a pair of Baleciagas fall 2010 for the August issue of Vogue UK.

Kate Moss for Isabel Marant fall 2010 ad campaign

Here's a quick post about the new Isabel Marant fall 2010 ad campaign featuring the ever-stunning Kate Moss.
This is just a preview of the campaign, but I think this single photo is already a bright premise. The print jeans are kindly amazing and, well, Kate and Isabel are so good together that they don't need anything more than an empty room like that below to create something interesting.

That's all. I'm not sure I'm going to blog again today, so have a good weekend everybody! By the way, what are you up to tonight?

Chanel Haute Couture F/W 2010

The new Chanel Haute Couture collection is a pure pleasure for the eyes. Karl said this collection came to him in a nightmare (but he immediately added he was joking) and in a way we can see a little gloomier mood, but I strongly think that very few things could make a dream more blissful than these clothes (at least for me!).
An austere and strict style made of velvet and tweed clothes prevailed in the first part of the show and then it made room for more detailed and milder looks. There was an authentic play of proportions, which reaches its top with boleros on knee-length skirts, a sort of discipline meets boldness.
There's kind of a halo surrounding these incomparable and unattainable clothes in all their perfection that I'm sure I'll dream of them tonight and the nights after (and it won't be a nightmare, you bet).

Armani Privé fall 2010

While I appreciated Dior Haute Couture and totally fell in love with Givenchy collection, Armani Privé didn't excite me that much. I mean, I know this is Armani, it's supposed to be impeccably elegant, but maybe this collection was just a little too "prissy lady" style, too classical, too amber-coloured for my taste.

But it's also true that I loved some of the looks, so here are my favorites:

Givenchy Haute Couture fall 2010

The decision to not present the Givenchy Haute Couture fall 2010 collection with a proper show is now extremely clear: a runway presentation would never do justice to new Riccardo Tisci's work, which is meticulously processed. I find it a pure masterpiece! Every single detail is worthy of wonder, as everything in the collection is doubtless breathtaking. The color palette, restricted to bright and neutral colors as white and gold, has an only exception: the black toned-down feathered gown, which looks like an (non)ugly duckling (regardless of its splendor) among all those heavenly dresses.
Enjoy these ten wonderful outfits:

An excellent example of excellent sartoriality! What do you think?

Dior Haute Couture Fall 2010

Paris Haute Couture Week began just yesterday and Dior show teed off in such a colorful and strong way. It was all about flowers and iridescent colors, ruches and ruffles, sumptuous shapes and squeezed waists. Brilliant, but let me tell you truth, I hated the plastic wrappings on the models' heads (even if the sky-high hairdos were incredibly amazing as swell as impossible to imitate!)
