Valentino Haute Couture was superb, one of the most charming collections presented at Paris Haute Couture this year, but beyond doubt the one with the most doll-like (maybe a little too much, even if they were adorable) dresses. The recall to young women in an entire Lolita style is very clear since the name of the collection: The dark side of first love. This is usually not a prerogative of Valentino collections, but I must admit I pretty appreciated the turning point, as I'm partial to pretty and innocent style.

Tati Cotliar for Ten Magazine Summer 2010
She looked to me so mild and fierce at the same time that I couldn't not show you this photoshoot featuring Tati Cotliar by the photographer Andrea Spotorno for Ten Magazine's Summer 2010 edition.
There is a subtle craziness shining through those shoots, you can even have fun just looking at them. Which is quite weird, considering the clothes the model is wearing: they're all extremely grave except just for the multicolor gown by Valentino Haute Couture (I would kill to have something just a little similar to it).
However, Tati shows the best way to take the heat out of Haute Couture dresses and she makes them ever more suitable.
So, we come back to basics: It's not what you wear it, it's how you wear it. That's it. And that's why I love fashion.
